| BNB Smart Chain Mainnet | 56 | 0x38 | BNB |
These are reference examples from the dated snapshot, not a list of recommended networks. Open the specific service’s deposit screen and confirm its exact network and token requirements.
What is a chain ID?
A chain ID is a number used by EVM networks. Ethereum’s EIP-155 includes it in transaction signing to help separate transactions between chains. Ethereum Mainnet uses decimal 1, which is 0x1 in hexadecimal. Decimal 8453 and hexadecimal 0x2105 are two ways to write Base’s listed ID.
Chain ID and network ID are different fields
Some tools expose both. This lookup uses the registry’s chainId, not its networkId. Wallet chain configuration commonly represents the chain ID as a 0x-prefixed hexadecimal string. Check your wallet’s instructions for the field you are editing.
Why compare networks that both use ETH?
Ethereum Mainnet, Base, Arbitrum One and OP Mainnet list ETH as their native currency in this snapshot, while their chain IDs differ. A shared currency symbol does not mean balances, tokens or recipient deposit routes are interchangeable. Moving assets between different networks may require a bridge or a supported service.
A 0x address cannot identify the network
The same address format is used across EVM networks. This directory cannot infer the intended network from a wallet address or identify a token contract for you. Confirm the exact token contract and recipient-supported network with their official source.
Native currency is not every token on the network
The native currency field is network metadata, often relevant to gas fees. An ERC-20 token such as USDC has its own contract and decimals. This directory’s native currency decimals must not be applied to arbitrary tokens. A displayed symbol alone does not establish token identity or gas eligibility.
How current is the registry?
This is a bundled snapshot, so searches need no external API or account. Deprecated, incubating and reused-ID flags are shown when supplied. An active entry or a missing warning does not prove current liveness, honest RPC endpoints, a secure network or recipient support. Test indicators are a limited reading of metadata, not a verified production/test classification.
Use the comparison as a review aid
Choose two entries and download their listed details. The notes include the snapshot date and limitations. The tool does not connect to a wallet or install RPC settings. Follow the pre-send checklist and transfer-status guide for the next checks. For fee scenarios, see the Ethereum gas calculator.
